Shipping philosophy



Accessibility AND transparency – Pillars of the Artemano shipping philosophy 

At Artemano, we love what we do.

Creating the right ambiance that resonates deeply with our clients’ personality and inner soul is what spurs us on. And every time we have the privilege of pairing a unique piece of furniture with a new owner – which often leads to a lifelong, life-changing relationship –, we are truly fulfilled.

That is why we want to make our creations available to everyone, including those who do not have access to our stores or prefer the 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week convenience of online shopping. And the last thing we want is for shipping costs to be an obstacle.

Are shipping costs prohibitive? Not at Artemano, they aren’t.

Whatever your purchase, we want to make sure your new acquisition gets to you so that you can quickly turn your home into an escape.

Some people are under the impression that the costs of shipping large pieces of furniture must be prohibitive. We are willing to redirect a portion of our profits to keep your shipping costs them down to a bare minimum.

We believe that transparency is the key to a long-term relationship with our customers. That is why we make sure you know exactly what you will be paying for shipping. On any product detail page, you can quickly work out your shipping charge associated with that item by entering your postal or zip code: a popup window will show the regular shipping cost, Artemano’s contribution, and the difference: your actual shipping charge, if any. (If you are ordering from the US, import duties will appear clearly in your Shopping Cart, so there are no unexpected charges or fees, ever.)

Here’s how the Artemano contribution works. You will note that the more expensive the item, the more likely it will ship for free.

Example 1

Let us assume that a dining table costs $400 to ship. Let us also assume that this dining table has a list price of $2500. Our shipping contribution would be roughly $125. Your remaining shipping charge would be only $275.

Example 2

Let us assume that a large sideboard costs $500 to ship using our White Glove delivery service. This would mean the large, heavy piece of furniture would be brought into the room of your choice and the packaging materials would be removed and disposed of. Let us also assume that this sideboard has a list price of $3000. Our shipping contribution would be roughly $150. Your remaining shipping charge would be only $120.

Example 3

Let us assume that a table lamp costs $30 to ship. Let us also assume that the list price of this lamp is $200. Our shipping contribution would be roughly $10. Your remaining shipping charge would be only $20.

At Artemano, we have your interests at heart.

When processing your order, we select the quickest and most cost effective carrier for you. The one we choose for a given order or item depends on your location and the size of your order.


Shipment to Canada

Canada Post handles shipments bound for Canada under 66lbs (and with a dimensional size* of up to 117 inches).

Purolator handles shipments bound for Canada from 66lbs to 150lbs (and with a dimensional size of up to 217 inches).

Our Specialty Carrier Partner handles shipments bound for Canada over 150lbs. 

Our Specialty Partner also offers White Glove delivery service, which includes removing packaging, assembly, and placement of the item in the room of your choice. For added convenience, all packing materials are removed.

Large orders of many items can be bundled and shipped using our Specialty Partner.

Shipment to the United States

Purolator handles shipments bound for the US up to 150lbs (and with a dimensional size up to 165 inches). Purolator hands off the parcel to UPS when it crosses the border.

Our Specialty Partner handles shipments bound for the US over 150lbs (or with a dimensional size that exceeds 165 inches) through its White Glove delivery service. 

* Here is the method for calculating “dimensional size” (in inches), as referred to in this section:

Height + (2 x Width) + (2 x Length) = Dimensional Size


Flexibility speaks volumes – Transit times

In cases where one or more items ordered must be delivered through our white glove service due to size and other items in the order are smaller and can be sent by a small parcel carrier, we will get in touch with you and offer you the option of receiving smaller items first (i.e. breaking the order up) or waiting a little to receive everything all at once. Note: White glove deliveries normally take from 4 to 6 weeks, while small parcels usually ship more quickly.

Deliveries by Canada Post and Purolator normally take 2 to 4 weeks, while shipments through our Specialty Carrier USA generally take from 4 to 6 weeks..

When time is of the essence – Expedited shipping

Expedited shipping is available for deliveries through Canada Post and Purolator. With expedited shipping, the estimated delivery time for your order is normally 3 to 7 business days. Our Specialty Carrier does not offer expedited shipping.

A lot of our items are 'oversized' and therefore must be shipped using Specialty Carrier. These shipments will normally take about 4-6 weeks or so.


Keeping an eye on your new acquisition – Tracking

You can keep an eye on your order while it is in transit. Tracking Information will be provided to the customer shortly after the purchase is made.


Rest assured – Insurance

At Artemano, all shipments are fully insured… so you can rest assured.



Storage and Reattempted Deliveries

Please note that we do not offer storage for orders that have been placed. Orders are expedited as soon as possible due to a shortage of storage space.

Also please note that if you are not present to accept delivery from our White Glove carriers once a delivery date has been confirmed with you, a $99 fee will be charged for each re-delivery attempt that is made.
